Visit from a Tall Ship

After a race through the Great Lakes, about six of the boats made a brief visit to our port here in Milwaukee. As this ship pulled up next to the small sailboat, it appeared to firing a warning shot but I believe that it was firing the shot as it was about to leave for the open waters that day. Who knows? Could have been a warning shot in jest.

There is something so special about these ships and I have always had a great fascination for them. Our own Denis Sullivan (not the one shown), was made here by volunteers, summers here when it's not out "visiting", and winters in the islands in the Caribbean. My wish would be to see a lot more of these ships being built.
