Desperately Seeking Susan

Ingleborough

Ingleborough is the second heighest of the peaks in the Yorkshire Dales. I climbed the 2,373ft of Ingleborough starting from Ingleton. Very steep and narrow ascent for the last section, having to scramble up the last few feet over rocks. Had to leave OH behind to return to base camp as he could not manage it. On climbing the last steep section remembered that I had a fear of heights. Knew I could not manage to descend the same way. Then realised OH still had the map! With poor mobile phone signal and no map, I met Tony from Preston who showed me the route to Clapham over Little Ingleborough. A slightly less steeper descent.
Thank you Tony for your help.
