It was me

55 years ago I started "big" school and to commemorate the start of my eldest grandson James joining the Guilsborough School in first year (now called year 7) I arranged to take him into Northampton and choose two books a novel and a reference book to mark the occasion.
The novel has an unfortunate title but he has read others from the same author and thinks they are good, the reference book an illustrated dictionary may help in the coming years.
His T shirt "it wasn't me" is currently one of his favourites!
The fact is that exactly 55 years ago to the day my Uncle Harry took me to a book shop in Darlington and gave me a similar gift
