Renthouse of Foulis
Alison often buys watercolours from an artist in Easter Ross and today was her annual studio open day. It's in the middle of nowhere in the hills between the Cromarty Firth and the Dornoch Firth. Idyllic in today's weather. Called in here on the way back. The Storehouse (or renthouse) of Foulis on the north shore of Cromarty Firth between Dingwall and Everton. A very popular restaurant, café, shop. With luck you can see the seals in the firth. The café and shop are actually next door to the building in the picture which was built around 1740 by the Munros of Foulis to store the rents from their tenants - rent at the time being often paid in kind rather than cash)
