Another Day

Pruning

What another magnificent day up in the 20 degrees, but cooled down now. It was warm all through the night as well which is most unusual.

The Press this morning had graphic pictures and stories of the earthquake in and around the Canterbury area. The devastation is far wider than I initially thought, or what we had seen on TV. People have been left homeless in many areas because of silt through their houses, liquefaction, sewerage problems, and their houses moved or lost chimneys, walls etc.
Here we are sitting like really nothing has happened to us now. Although I am still feeling shakes.
Well Hubby decided he would prune my flowering cherry at the front of the house.
He did ask me if I wanted to supervise him, but I declined, as we differ on they way it should be done. It is almost ready for flowering and he always wants to prune at this stage.
Maddening. I agree that it has to be done, as it is near telephone lines, and the council will come and check, and we will be fined if it is within so many meters of the line. I always hate it when our trees and bushes are cut back, but I have to admit they do grow again.
I am better not watching, and just look later and feel devastated as if the have been murdered!!
