Off to the allotment this morning - needed to dig potatoes as something has been having a go at them. Found some duck eggs hidden in the soil when I started digging. Someone had been rooting around trying to find the eggs again and had unearthed and scratched lots of fir potatoes in the search. Was it a badger or a fox? Anyway - much worse was the ghastly sight of the children's activity center which a very sick man had set alight in the middle of the night. He was still standing in the yard watching when the police and 2 fire engines arrived! The fish and tank survived but what else I don't know. We have been raising thousands of pounds to keep the city farm going and don't need setbacks like this. I thought this child summed it all up as he stood and gazed at the charred timbers and tiles.
