Red Bird of Paridise

These very colorful blossoms are all over the place in our area. It is a Red Bird of Paradise. They are rampant growers and reseed to the point where they can become a nuisance.

There is another color combination, but this orange-yellow variety is the most frequent.

Correction:
This bloom was misidentified as a Mexican Bird of Paradise. The Mexican Bird of Paradise has Yellow Spikes.

The Yellow Bird of Paradise has yellow blossoms with red stamens.
