Success!

Yet again I wasn't allowed in to work so I decided to get out of Christchurch and away from the horrible aftershocks for the day. The weather was pretty miserable in the city but the further I got into the mountains the better the weather got.

I eventually stopped at the beautiful Lake Pearson and tried once more to catch my first New Zealand trout. As you can see from the photo I was finally successful. Not a big fish but a cracking rainbow trout none the less, and such a lovely setting to catch my first fish in my new country.
