Top of the world

Maybe not quite top of the world but only 170ish metres short of the 6th highest peak in Scotland.

We took the funicular railway up Cairngorm. Long time ago I walked up here under my own steam, only to be asked by a little old lady (who had wandered the last few metres to the summit from the chairlift) why I was a wee bit out of breath, as she didn't think it was that far from the restaurant!!!

Nowadays if you come up on the railway you are confined to the Centre at the top and can't go off insulting walkers enjoying some Kendal mint cake after a bit of hard graft. But however you get there the view is stunning.
