Whinchat

Here's another bird ringing blip. This lovely bird is a young Whinchat, a species that migrates from Europe to Africa for winter, crossing seas, mountains and the Sahara desert to get there.

(I've just completed five days of pretty-much-non-stop ringing, on a course to brush up on my skills and get lots of extra experience)

This was the first Whinchat I'd ever ringed.
