Big day today at an event, and despite (ironically) technology being a bit of a challenge, my speech seemed well received by people. As ever at things though, it was hearing what everyone else had to say, and being exposed to and challenged by their perspective, that made it so worthwhile.

Tonight though I plan to leaf through this wonderful tome, which arrived a couple of days ago. It's a collection of essays, written by a whole range of people who are looking at the varied issues around community: "exploring issues of identity, community togetherness, playfulness and pragmatism. Active optimism for the 20th Century." So says the testimonial on the back of it.

It really is inspiring stuff, even from a first flick. I am privileged to know Tessy, who made it all happen, brought all together and curated it. She's also published it - for more info check out the Social Spaces website - where you can also find out how to order your own copy if you're interested!

*One warning though - it does contain me. Well, I co-authored a chapter and also - most excitingly in terms of blip - it has a few of my photos taken on Knoydart - yay!!
