The Irthing Valley

It's been a really busy few days but tonight I was determined to get a blip. We are very lucky to have this beautiful view just a few steps from the house. Although it wasn't a very spectacular sunset I quite liked the soft tones in the sky this evening. Shame about the nettles in the foreground but unfortunately they are a feature of our farm.

You can see Hadrian's Wall on the right of the photo ending at the bridge remains. The trail continues past there and over the footbridge before switching back and climbing up to the top of the north side of the valley. About a mile beyond that is Birdoswald Roman Fort.
