Piggyback

After weeks of being away, kayaking on the Thames resumed tonight.
Before the summer holidays, the evenings were warm and light and I would sit on the balcony with a drink waiting for the kids. Tonight was different - it was dark by the time they'd finished.
My son came second in his race and in celebration, he decided to carry little sis back to the car.
