Enlightened

Mr Kipling and the Ladies are enjoying their new kitchen lighting. I'm pleased with it, too.

The electrician has been here all day, replacing old socket and switch covers, adding new kitchen lights, shortening the hall light pendant and making safe some random wires. He also talked to the electric authority to try to convince them to sort the live wire in our basement that's leaking electricity. It's on the wire leading up to the top flat's metre, but because it's in my basement, it lands in a grey who's-responsible-for-this area. The electrician said that the electric company is usually responsible for the wire up to the meter and he isn't allowed to touch it without the company's supervision. However, the electric company denied this, although they will come out to check the electrician's work once he's done it. Tch!
