Chaotic Chinese
Well, this is, ahem, rather embarrassing! My THIRD Chinese this week. Oops. Maybe you'll forgive me because I'm having such a busy and chaotic week!
Anyway, my friend Scharwenka came over today. He really wanted to meet Smudge - and was utterly charmed by her. I persuaded him to get me a Chinese takeaway for lunch to solve the "my cooking husband is away at the moment and I'm really too busy sorting the house to make myself food" problem! :-)
It was a bit chaotic really. The Chinese weren't answering their phone (we later discovered because their phone had been pulled out of its socket - oops) so we went into town and ordered in person. A short amble later, lunch was ready, and utterly delicious. I managed to clear a small corner of the dining table sufficiently to eat off (Scharwenka doesn't like eating off his lap in front of the TV, which is the accustomed method in our house).
Apart from the time I spent with Scharwenka, I have been cleaning and sorting. I washed up about 20 cat dishes (new, old, water, crunchies, wet food etc etc etc), cleaned the utility, cleaned the cage ready for Dexter, sorted washing, did washing etc etc etc. I also played the Arpeggione Sonata as exercise for the fingers.
Exhausted now, but determined to do a bit more cleaning before Eastenders. Then it'll be cat-feeding time, a bottle of wine and the leftovers of the Chinese for me, a bit more loading & unloading the washing machine, before collapsing in a heap in bed!
