Meticulous planning....tenacity spanning
This was my first task at work today...planning next week's lessons.
The technicians like at least 24 hours notice of which experiment is taking place and as I have a full teaching day after P1 today and all day tomorrow, my plans have to be done now.
So 19 lessons, 5 year groups, 4 different subject ares (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Ecology) all to be thought out and then the equipment ordered.
When the Russians visited they were amazed that Science taechers in UK State schools have to teach all the Sciences, Big Sergiy was so impressed he even offered me a job!
When I visited the schools in Siberia I was escorted to visit a Physics lesson, a Chemistry lesson and a Biology lesson and was introduced as the incredibley talented teacher from England! They even got me to teach part of the Biology lesson! Fortunately it is my specialism and it was Comparative Anatomy so it was straight forward even allowing for my limited Russian! I think I made the Russian teachers very nervous, one lady talked nineteen to the dozen to me through an interpreter and afterwards the Principal, Tatyana, told me that it was the most anyone had heard her say in five years!
The blip shows my laptop, with an active textbook loaded, my Planner and the order slips, plus the "zapper " for the interactive whiteboard.
If you look carefully the lesson on the left is about bird beak shapes and feeding, the one in the middle is maggots and Choice Chambers and the one on the right is about invertebrate animals.
Looking forward to the maggot one, you can have a reign of terror in our school witha handful of maggots and, of course, when the experiment is over, I get to take the maggots away for fishing bait!
Tonight was the barbie for the junior anglers, I cooked 32 burgers and 36 sausages! The trophies were given out. We coaches then sat round a roaring fire and at 8.30 I went off to meet the Boss at the Pub Quiz (which we didn't win this week). I took some shots, but pics of kids and adults devouring burgers while I sweat over a hot flame have only a limited appeal so I ditched them!
You see what an exciting life I lead! LOL!
