The FIG

This is the Family Interactive Gallery in the Lightcatcher -- the newest Whatcom Museum building. It replaced the hugely popular Childrens Museum and was not well received. It's a beautiful place -- I love to go in when it's not busy, and fondle the woodwork -- but not as appealing to kids as the old funky museum, which emphasized hands-on activities.

I had a working lunch with a colleague from the NSEA board at the Lightcatcher Cafe, and chose the pork belly sandwich -- not the healthiest choice after having a bacon sandwich for breakfast -- but so delicious.

Today's trip to town was a great way to kill two birds with one stone. Make that three birds -- NSEA business, lunch, and a blip!
