Not a Collapsing House
This is the 15 minute break that I took from the falling down collapsing house. It was quite a nice break in fact as it was so pretty in the setting sun. the house is standing but showing more problems. It has scaffolding inside the south walls to hold up any roof that we might have fall if the outer wall peels off, which is threatening to do. It has a good list on it and several cracks and a big bulge. It is really a matter of time, and whether it will be a builder or another tremor that sends it down we will wait to see. We also seem to have a water problem as we have a lake now on our front lawn which not a great water feature. We have isolated the pipe and reduced that and it is diminishing, but the meter is still pumping 4 litres of water somewhere a minute. We are now waiting for new batteries to fuel a torch so we can see under the house if there is some sort of lake under there as well. It is becoming more difficult to cope as the house looks more depressing and also the numbers of visitors is massive, we are thinking of opening earthquake tourism tours. The amount of talking and repitition is very draining. An early night for me...
