Well-travelled Cyclamen
Got back from end-of-week shop today and Alison noticed this at the edge of the drive - "oh look! your mother's cyclamen". Looking around found a few more scattered flowers. Mum and Dad came to visit me, in the 1970s, in Westonbirt where I worked and took a couple of cyclamen corms from the extensive gardens of the school there back to Ramsbottom in Lancashire. When they moved to Canterbury the corms went too and were fruitful and multiplied. When Alison and I came to Inverness we got one of the descendant corms and it has also multiplied and usually blooms just as most other thing are dying. Some people say that people live on as long as they are remembered and Mum who died 18 months ago was remembered to us by this flower. It also reminds me of many happy times in Westonbirt.
