Canal Day 1 - Tied Up For The Night

The first day of the holiday. We managed to get our boat early which was great because we needed to travel until 7ish tonight in order to be at the Bingley 5 Rise lock staircase by 12 noon tomorrow. They only allow boats down the locks in the mornings. If we don't get there by noon we just have to stay put until Sunday morning, hence wasting a day of our holiday.

This is where we tied up for tonight. We are beside a field of cows on one side and some nice deciduous woodland on the other. I hope I am up early enough to enjoy the special stillness the canals have in the early morning.

It was getting a bit dark at 7.30pm when I took this. Today Chippy took his on the journey.
