Reflections on the journey

Our friends left yesterday to return home, we are leaving this afternoon. It is 'back to reality' time... it has been a wonderfully busy summer full of fun, family, friends, adventures, travels, new people and and new places, familiar places and the peace that comes from loving and being loved.

We had news this morning that has caused us all to stop and think, to reflect on the important things in life, to realize that life is fragile and fleeting. The realization that life must be enjoyed and savored as we live it is not new, but is somehow too easy to forget.

We are so lucky to have what we have but it is all for nothing without each other.
