hotel 83............
well as you can probably guess, this is our hotel. i have never been here before and i hope i never will again. thats what happens when you let someone else arrange where you will stay. it is situated near enough in the heart of the red light district. this is quite a useful thing as most of the cafes we went to were near by.
i don't know how many of you have been to amsterdam but it is quite a beautiful city and even the buildings in the red light district are amazing. even at night with the neon signs blazing away it just makes it look well, christmas like. i wish i could come up with a better description but thats all yer gettin.
the view from our window was good too. i could just sit and watch the never ending sea of people flowing by. you get such an odd mix of folk there. obviously you have your guys who are simply there for the brasses, but then you have your stoners, aimlessly bouncing around, doing a bit of window shopping. the other dominant force that stood out were a LOT of middle (or slightly older) aged american tourists. i can only imagine the shock they got when arriving at some of there hotels. most of them did look like they were used to better and some of the places they had chosen to stay were somewhat....rustic. yeah that doesn't sound too nasty. thrown into all this mix are the couples. you see them walking along, the women pretending to be completely at ease with it all and the guys doing their best not to look to hard at any one particular window in case the other half notices. admittedly this isn't all couples but a large percentage of the ones i saw.
you know i could go on forever about the night but and a lot of guys out their will know the motto, "what goes on on tour, stays on tour". i know there will be many variations on this but it all means the same.
