Faced With A Choice - Do Both.
I am seriously and completely not cool. So not cool am I, I am uncool.
Oblique Strategies gave me this title as I was uploading the pic. How ironic. You see, I had to meet one friend in town today, then meet another, and also had the opportunity to catch this fellow doing a book signing in town.
I planned to blip my fellow blipper's moment, and thought I could fit that in, between meeting my various. Yet it was not to be, and I missed the moment. I also ended up, late for dropping in to that, and late for meeting Second Friend. All because First Friend was late. And I was fool enough to not slip off and do the book thing first. Doh!
If that isn't uncool enough for you, the Leica is not mine. It belongs to Second Friend, MTPT. He got it this week, and we met up so I could figure out the buttons for him and, more importantly to hang out, shoot some, and have fun. This we did, yet the Leica is not mine. The dry cleaning bill for the drool on his shirt, however, is.
We took the ferry, and I made a replacement blip for the planned one for today. Then we met up with people at Clove Hitch for dinner - god awful service, but that wasn't the point. Had a wonderful time catching up with folk, and had some fun practicing the black art of manual focussing while drinking on an empty belly. I'm getting there, I can manual focus when sober and not hungry, but when either hungry or not sober, I get a little blur. The only logical thing to do to rectify this is combine drinking and manual focus practice on a regular basis until I have developed this skill.
The shot is from late in the evening. I was vaguely focussing on the Leica red logo and the lens, trying to get both. Nearly, not quite, but close enough for now. I want to see MTPT's shots when he uploads them tho, cos there's some good ones in there, I think.
Anyway, this is a slightly spurious photo and a not at all spurious tip of the hat to the people who make these days so joyous. Props guys, you make this town my home. You are my Liverpool.
And MTPT - let's do this again. Oh, and get on here, so I can see your M'boro, dear. xxx
