Dr Mary Esslemont

Dr Mary Esslemont was one of Aberdeens most famous daughters and a leading soroptimist who on her death in 1984 left her home to the Aberdeen club. A housing society was formed, and the property converted into flats with additional accommodation being built in the grounds. More recently, a bungalow has been constructed for a disabled resident and carer.

Today the residences are managed by a housing association on behalf of the club.

Additional information on the soroptomists can be found here.
