Snails and Sangria

Wake up late. Bread with butter and tomato jam for breakfast. Coffee at the local tavern. Go to close-by river beach. Water not cold at all. Swim and rest. Eat "sweet herb" and cinnamon cookies. Return to base, picking snails and sangria from tavern. Set table, prepare salad, add lots of ice to sangria, heat previous-day rice, slice bread to eat with snails. Eat. Talk. Drink. Eat. Laugh. Drink. Talk. Doze. Drink. Laugh. Talk. Drink. Doze. Eat cake. Drink. Eat melon. Talk. Drink. Laugh. Clean up host's home. Say goodbye to everyone. Get into car. R drives, I'm in no condition to do it. Return to Lisbon. Vacation week ends. Back to work tomorrow.
