The Philosopher's Wife

Not QUITE Like the Photo

It was raining today, so I decided it was a good excuse to bake bread.

So I pulled out my copy of The Modern Baker and tried making these cornetti rolls (it's an Italian recipe, apparently). I've failed at these once before, because when we first moved to Virginia I failed to appreciate how much the humidity would play into getting dough to rise. Fortunately I am smarter now and use a pre-warmed oven instead.

They don't look quite as pretty as the picture in the book, but they tasted really good and were perfect with our lentil soup!
