Sick and Tired!
"What you need is sustained outrage...there's far too much unthinking respect given to authority."
~Molly Ivins
Came back from vacation with a lower GI viral infection and added to that an upper respiratory infection. Went to the doctor a week ago for those diagnoses and spent the whole of Labor Day weekend at home, mostly sleeping. I went back today as the doctor had ordered me to do if I wasn't feeling well.
Saw a different doctor, who pissed me off and was generally unimpressive medically. When a doctor treats me like an idiot it generally tends to anger me, especially when they don't have enough knowledge to be that arrogant!! I then dealt with a pharmacist who looked at me as though I was both stupid and a waste of her time. After all that, had to call home and vent. Me was angry!
Luckily, I work with pharmacists and saw one that afternoon who not only commiserated with me but corrected the false statement the doctor made and saved me the trouble of an additional symptom the recommended OTC medication would have produced!! <3 him! The day improved from there, including this lovely sky in the evening. Small gifts. :)
But I still have seven days of antibiotics to take (apparently the viral infection is bacterial?!?) which will take my now relatively healed lower GI tract and screw it up completely again. Hopefully it will at least kill the nasty in my sinuses.
Sorry I've been so sporadic lately, I've missed you all but have had my hands full with work and needing 9-12 hours of sleep a night to fight off these bugs. Ugh.
Backblipped a few random photos:
