As I wandered...
After a fitful night's sleep owed to some dripping from my AC (on to the adaptor directly underneath, which luckily didn't explode) I thought I woke to the sound of an e-mail from my boss (thankfully work-related rather than the "Enlarge Your Penis" spam he has been inadvertantly sending of late), but as it disappeared when I checked again later, I'm not sure if I actually received it, or if I was dreaming.
Day two as acting boss wasn't the best. The new member of staff who was due to start last week appeared today and promptly disappeared after five minutes due to a family crisis. It's unclear when we'll see her again, but what is clear is that I'm now going to have to do the Business English course she was delegated. A follow up email to those already sent urgently requesting a whiteboard, flip-chart, tables, chairs and a projector for the aforementioned course will no doubt end up requiring to be stamped a hundred times by people who are never available to stamp things and with the President still off on his Ramadan Jolly, it's unlikely a single thing will be achieved meaning that on Monday I will have to deal with 13 businessmen and women with no suitable room, no equipment, no furniture, and no books.
I shall worry about that on Monday I think.
Today's drama was caused by none other than Knobface. That she has a face that you just constantly want to punch is surpassed effortlessly by her disastrous social skills in the basic art of not being a total cock at every opportunity that presents itself. Today's upset was experienced by a cleaner, whom she frequently orders to do things like get water for her, and take bits of paper to different buildings. That she does this in the first instance is sadly indicative of how much weight qualifications are given in social standing by some (amusingly, she refers to herself as 'Dr' without the slightest shred of evidence of any paperwork that can back that up) but that she does it with such utter condescending contempt, is unforgiveable.
Roll on day three.
