Red Berries

The September equinox is approaching and in the Northern hemisphere denotes that we are midway through the season of autumn.

I have previously expressed displeasure at the approaches of autumn but in fact it is a season I enjoy; it's just that I like it to follow summer, and in the last couple of years we seem to have been short changed here in England. However, the fruits and berries and the reds and golds of the season are to be treasured.

The berries on this shrub were found on the side of a house in Castle Street here in Calne. I'm not sure what variety it is or whether it is poisonous.
