What to do with your Wobbly Steeple.
Firstly thank you all for the encouragment and supportive words recently. I have not had any time to think or to comment back to people but I have read them and are very grateful. It is now a time to be very careful about just everything. Tonight I spilt a 3l bottle of milk all over the supermarket floor, came home and couldnt open the oven because the internal dishes had moved and jammed it, requiring a screwdriver to dismantle the door, I put my hand into the working insinkerator and we are just getting tired and more dangerous to ourselves. Need to be very cautious especially driving the cars. tempers are flaring and life is just all around more difficult. THis is deliberately NOT A HOUSE PHOTO, although it is still there. I will photograph it a lot for historical reasons when I can face it.
This is a local church that I just happened to drive past today. you get a bit immune to the sight of lots of damage but this is really quite a shock when you see it. I has been lifted off by a crane, so is nicely placed on the ground and tethered all around to keep it upright. It is a majestic piece of salvation, not spiritual but maybe architectual this time?
Our house is continuing its disintegration. The joys of an office bedroom for 5 are declining I can tell you. The plumber came today and re-connected the water so no more sprinting down the drive to turn it on and off at the street when you want a toilet flush any more. Probably a good thing for the neighbourhood enhancement! The builder re appeared but was silent, the roofers came and said they would not go up and continue water proofing the holes, as it looked to unstable and they were not keen to risk it. Fair enough! They did offer to buy the slate at $100 000, as is, where is, (which is on top of a wobbly disintegrating building) so that was an eye opener in terms of value.
Architect comes tomorrow to invent plans for most likely a new house, civil engineer comes back when he has recovered from heart troubles from the recent stress, to assess our potential for repair versus demolition. A busy day topped off by my son announcing that I was expected at school to be interviewed on camera about the effects of weather on Air Traffic Control Mmm just what I need.
Got to get my kids off to bed, time to do the office shut down. It is amazing how much noise an office can make in the night, and how many machines have bright blue lights as well.
