Day 12
Please note that the entries for oday and yesteday are sowing in the wrong order .... my mistake and too costly on ships internet to correct.
Day 12
Korcula ?? a Croatian island between Dubrovnik and Split.
Small but beautifully formed.
It has a super little walled old town which is built on the grid system so it is very easy to find your way around.
Looking up the alleys that pass as streets every one of them is different with its own character which is really nice in such a small place (15 minutes would have you back at your starting point if just walking round the walls).
It is alledged that Marco Polo was born here - although there is no proof
But it is such a nice wee place I think I will allow them the claim.
To get from ship to shore and back we used the ?tenders? (read lfeboats). They look tiny but each holds just over 100 people ?. sThey are like Dr Who?s TARDIS.
The Adriatic was like a mill pond so there was no problem with stepping off the ship and finding the tender suddenly 10? below you. In fact, it is so calm that there is no bow wave coming away from the ship travelling at nearly 20 knots.
We are now officially on our way home with only one short stop in a couple of days ????.. Bummer.
I could get used to this life. I need to win a huge lottery roll-over and buy myself a gin palace.
