Marjorie's ramblings

Old range

Today's Haltwhistle long walk was a circular from Edmondbyers. We set off in high winds and intermittent rain; at times it was hard to keep your feet. As we progressed along the side of the hills we saw several old, abandoned farmhouses.
In this one I found an old range which showed signs of paint from different eras. The floor was covered with dirt and debris from the falling roof, and with signs that sheep had sheltered there.

Last night I was at the Photo Club listening to Peter Paterson talking about his photography. Amongst his images were a few from abandoned buildings, but I did not expect I would be capturing one today!

His work is truly amazing, Peter Paterson ARPS EFIAP MPAGB

Despite the challenging weather, we saw wonderful clear views to Gateshead and Consett at lunchtime, and, as always, had a most enjoyable day.
