Rare Blooms
Backblipped
I meant to post this, but then I forgot. Argh!
I've had this Snake Plant (aka Sansevieria Trifasciata) for around 14 years, so I'm guessing it to be around 15-20 years old. In that time, I've seen it bloom once before. The buds blossom at night and close up in the day time. When in full blossom, the bottoms curl all the way back and look like curled ribbon. It's scent is very sweet - again only while blossoming - and I can smell it when I walk down the hallway at night.
Supposedly, these plants are good luck and are used to ward off evil, and - according to what I read - when the plant is happy, it will bloom. So I guess it's happy :)
