Distinctive red soil

Along the north-east coast of Aberdeenshire, the soils are a vivid reddish brown in colour. Something I have been meaning to capture for a while. This reddish brown colour is due to sediments eroded from the seabed that were deposited by ice flowing on shore during the last ice age.

I was only my way to see a friend in the North East coast of Aberdeenshire today who is also an artist and displaying some of her work as part of NEOS North East Open Studios
