The tomatoes are grown locally, in BC hothouses, and I think the pears are local too. Bananas come from far away, and are priced accordingly. So much for the 100-mile diet! (Not that I'm following it, but you hear so much about it these days.) Is it true that Iceland supplies bananas to Europe?
