Bumblings of a bee

Swan on a mission...

Was leaving my cousin's road last night when I spotted a couple of deer on the far side of the pool, so I pulled over.

Got chatting to a chap from the local wildlife group, who had stopped to check out dozens and dozens of canada geese congregated on the pool - together with a greylag goose and a bar headed goose.

Whilst we were there one of the swans decided to see off all the geese from what he obviously regards as 'his' pool! We also watched him see off another swan, which eventually gave up and flew off!

In this picture you can see the swan's wings are 'up' and he is steaming after a group of geese.

ps. maybe I should mention that all of the geese are the same colour - the 'golden' ones are in a shaft of late afternoon sunlight.
