Day 15
Day 15
The captain made up an hour overnight so we were able to dock and jump ship into Gibraltar an hour earlier than expected this morning.
We grabbed a taxi and took a tour to the caves (I could have spent hours in there taking pictures) and the Moorish castle as well as the high spots for the wonderful views.
Never once were we attacked by a Barberry Ape??.. even when others got between a mother and her very young offspring.
In fact the taxi driver had one sit on the window sill and let him hold a union Jack up like a bib on him - although he did say that was a particularly well known and friendly animal.
We watched the traffic being stopped to let a plane take off.
They have to stop the traffic as the main road crosses the centre of the runway ??. Very bizarre.
After our very informative tour we had a wander round, drank some beer and bought a couple of tax free items (we even got a discount we were not expecting - even better).
That was our last port of call and it now a case of sailing up the length of Portugal, through the Bay of Biscay (fingers crossed for a smooth crossing again) and up the English Channel to Southampton.
I almost forgot ?? we got news today that our friends daughter (regular viewers will have seen pictures of her) has given birth to a daughter - so guess what we will be doing straight after visiting the Cygnet when we get home.
