Grey and Grim
It was a grey and wet day today so we went to the ?????? (the answer is in the photo).
The Sunday Times gave Winter's Bone 5 stars. Now, we have a friend who gives glowing reports of films that we avoid because we know his tastes aren't ours but we generally agree with the ST. We certainly do in this case.
Winter's Bone depicts a grim world within the world that is the USA. But the story, the acting and the photography were impeccable.
The film uses a RED camera process that is new to me but it evidently facilitates low-budget production.
It is strange that on a grey day a grim film can hold ones attention so completely.
