Car-free Sunday

It was car-free Sunday today in Brussels. This means that between 9 a.m and 7 p.m the Brussels region is closed for cars, motorbikes, busses etc., except for public transport and taxis. The car-free Sunday also marked the end of the European Mobility Week, to which 1986 cities from all over Europe participated.

I really like the atmosphere in the city on car-free Sunday. Everyone is out and about on foot, bikes, skates, horse etc.! On the Rue de la Loi they even rolled out the red carpet for pedestrians! :)
