Emergency Blip Time
I suddenly realised I'd not taken a single photograph today, just at the point at which we were thinking of putting Ben to bed.
So I took some of him watching tv - we were watching Total Wipeout I think. You can't tell, from his expression...
Then I took a couple of photos of today's efforts from the kitchen. 2lbs of meat and a mountain of veg - my arm was tired after peeling that lot - has culminated in 7 meals. 6 for the freezer and one in our bellies already :) 4 casseroles and 2 lots of shepherd's pie mix. Excellent job!
And then, while Steve was getting Ben bathed and ready for bed, he started asking if he could do some drawing. I think he'd seen Steve's pencil case which I'd left upstairs. So they came downstairs and we dug Ben's pencils out and his little table, and Ben did some drawing. After he'd finished they went upstairs to clean teeth, then came downstairs to watch some more total wipeout... So Ben is now climbing on and off his table, laughing at all the contestants falling into the water, and occasionally coming to me for a cuddle. I think we'll all be heading off to bed soon.
It's been a good day. There was a bouncy castle at church this morning for the younger children, Ben loved it! Only one bumped head (from him, anyway) and that was made all better by a cuddle and a kiss, and back on he went. We had 30 kids under 5 this morning in the first meeting, and 17 (I think) in the second. That was a lot of kids!
We moved stuff around in Ben's room this afternoon, ready to put the other half of the picture rail up. It feels good to do that. It means that there is definite progress going on. I'll be so pleased when that's done. Although I have a feeling that it's going to be done just in time for me to want to start trying for another jumpingbean... which might be tricky, with the 3 of us sleeping in that tiny room together!
Only a month to go until the family gathers for a celebration weekend. We skyped the grandparents today (how hard can a skype call be?! One of them we ended up using skype for visual and the telephone on loudspeaker for audio!) and they can't wait to see Ben again properly. Ben of course loves an audience and played up to them all, at least he did until he slammed his cupboard door shut and caught himself in the face as he did so. And then fell asleep on me.
Hence why he is now wide awake, bouncing off the walls, watching Total Wipeout until hopefully he simply crashes...... preferably into bed....
