Friends

My daughter has this friend over after school once a week.

They've been friends since they were tiny toddlers. Despite only being 6 months apart in age, their birthdays fall either side of a school year so they are in different classes.
Inititally this felt disappointing. However, her mum and I think that it's proved to be a really good thing. It means the special quality of their frienship has not been ruined by too many hours in each others company, nor by the influence of other girl type dynamics in the class
(other mums of 9/10 year old girls will know precisely what I mean by this..)

It's a firm out of school friendship that is based on trust, familiarity and a shared sense of humour!
