Anticipation

I rarely get to enjoy fishing anymore, what with the general constraints of work and family life. I do still enjoy tying flies however. It is a relaxing way to wind down at the end of a busy day, focusing the mind on the finer detail.

I am not sure why but it was May flies today. A little early, or late depending on which way you are looking, but they are beautiful creatures and the life cycle has always fascinated me.

I can almost feel the anticipation of the strike, the line tightening, the smooth dappled skin, the cool spring air and the scent of morning.
