Part of the cliff....

at Marsden, South Tyneside, that has broken away, because of corrosion by the sea, many many years ago.
It is a beautiful day, and we had been to a large fresh fish deli, where we purchased a new stock of fish for the freezer, after having coffee outside in the sun, overlooking the sea.
A walk further along from the shop, and this was the view.
However when we were back in the car, not much further along the road, where I took pictures on 21st August, there were fire engines and an ambulance. We didn't stop to watch, but as this is a spot where many people commit suicide by jumping from the cliffs, it made us wonder if this is what had happened. I do hope we were wrong, but we couldn't think of any other reason for fire engines to be there.
Sad thoughts at the end of a great trip to the sea.
