The plaque nearby this marking on the pavement reads - " The initials on the Pavement nearby mark the spot where Patrick Hamilton, member of the University was burned at the stake on 29 February 1528, at the age of 24.
On the continent he had been greatly influenced by Martin Luther and on is return to St Andrews he began to teach Lutheran Doctrines. Having been tried and Found guilty of Heresy, he was condemed to death, thus becoming the first martyr of the Scottish reformation."
its said that if an undergraduate steps on these initials we get cursed and fail our degree. However we can redeem ourselves by running into the North Sea at dawn on the 1st of May.

The last couple of days have been super busy. I'm currently in the process of writing an article for the student newspaper The Saint which involves attending the freshers week St Andrean lectures. I'm signing up to be a Student Ambassador and I've found my first academic child! phew!
