Thistle Down

Shopping Urge

One day I had the shopping urge,
I wanted something swell.
I needed something underneath,
I wouldn't even tell.

I thought I'd find a bargain spot,
So I picked the longest table.
And what I wanted...wasn't there,
And to find...I wasn't able.

I wandered to the covered racks,
That looked to me...was nice.
And when I turned the ticket up,
My Goodness!! Such a price.

I walked up to the second floor,
The displayed things were funny.
In case I found one that I liked,
I reached and felt my money.

The elevator took me down,
I had no time to roam.
And the leather-wear upon my shoes,
Would take me to my home.
