We had a lovely day together, Sienna and I. Even after a 6am start with her wanting to know where her nursery teachers slept when she wasn't there - as she hasn't seen any stairs up to bedrooms in the nursery!!!

The sun was out so we walked by the canal and it was one of those days where the pure joy that children find in everything was so evident. Here she was feeding the ducks, 'her friends' and the delight she took in that simple timeless pastime was just lovely. As was the watching of a butterfly, the call of a moor hen, the picking of ripe damsons on the tree and most of all the finding of wet - not dry mud!
