Easter Hails Gate Tunnel

11 years I worked right next to this and this was the first time I ever went down this way. This is the Easter Hails Gate Tunnel, found at the back end of Spylaw Park. An old railway tunnel leading to I don't quite remember where.

Funny to be down at Spylaw today, it was exactly 6 months ago that I was made redundant from Globespan after the collapse of Flyglobespan. Pure coincidence to head there today but it was kind of strange to see the building i worked in, spent many's an overnight it when the booking systems were going haywire now sitting there, devoid of the life it once had.

I was lucky, I held on for 3 months after the collapse and then extracted myself to go to a new job, hundreds of others weren't so lucky. Lesson learned? If anything like that ever happens to you, move heaven and earth to get yourself identified as key staff required to assist the administrators, might buy you enough time to get sorted out.
