Forgot All About the Gherkins

I have been cleaning up the vegetable garden
For the past 20 years it falls into neglect by the end of summer

I seeded some gherkins to be preserved in herbs&vinegar. Delicious, but unfortunately other priorities -and probably a general pathological laziness- made me forget all about the gherkins.

They have grown to a monstrous size. I may try a slice of them, but otherwise they'll just be the blip for today and the seeds for next year's try.
