Healthy Eating Diary
I'm determined not to call it a diet diary...rather a healthy eating diary. I want to lose weight because my attitude to food changes, not because I start limiting my calorie intake or it's never going to stick.
Saying that I'm very loosely following the Weight Watchers diet/points system hence the numbers on the right. Frankly though even those are a bit of an estimation since I'm not weighing anything before I eat it. But I'm still considering it all a success. I'm eating far more vegetables and fruit than I was and in terms of chocolate have only had a KitKat about 4 times in a month. I'm not cutting anything out because I don't think that's a long term solution. Sure I could say I'm never going to eat cake again but I think we all know THAT would be a lie. I'm trying to enjoy what I have and change how I view and enjoy food.
One of the big things that's made me want to change was when we watched the Jamie Does America programme the other night. It made me realise that my children's generation has even unhealthier attitudes to food than mine does. And when I come to have a family, how do I convince my children what foods should be eaten lots and which should be eaten sometimes, when I'm the size of a house and don't eat properly myself?! In a weird way, I want to do this as much for my future kids as I do myself....
