Vesper

Here it is... A long day, a lot of work still left to do, but I'm taking time out to have a drink. This is the one that James Bond in Casino Royale created on the fly in the casino while he was trying to win millions off of the dreaded Le Chiffre in a high stakes poker tournament. He called it a Vesper after his M6 auditor.

I do it a bit different, but it's a very nice, relaxing martini style drink:

1 part gin
1 part vodka
3 parts light lillet

shake in a shaker of ice,

pour into a martini glass and drizzle on a dab of cointreau, add a piece of orange peel and three or more olives.

It takes the edge off a really tough day, a really tough week.
